If anyone read my posting entitled The Indominatable Ellen Gilbert, you might remember that I gave a cursory bio of George Hatfeild Dingley Gossip. Gossip wasn't an easy name to research. I found some information in Hooper and Whyld's Oxford Companion to Chess, some in a few other books I have handy, and some, but not much, on the internet.

I recently came across a very nice piece by William Winter at Chess Cafe dealing with Gossip.
