Wisker arrived in Melbourne in Mar. 1880, and he played in all seven games against Burns, +3-0=4 for Burns. At least four of these were played immediately after Wisker's arrival, in March or April 1880. The account given by Zavatarelli and Renette suggests that all seven were played fairly soon, since after giving this 7-game result, they say: 'It appears that Burns and Wisker didn't meet again on the chess board---with the exception of a few consultation games in which they both took part, played in 1881.' Thus, I date them all to 1880. |
