| Sarah's Morphy website gives this from an obituary of Maurian in the American Chess Bulletin of Jan. 1913 (p.11), saying that 14 games were played, Maurian winning all 7 of the games where Rosenthal gave him odds of a Knight (the even games are recorded separately here). These were played 'at the Paris congress' so presumably in June or July 1867. |
