Notes:
McGowan gives only the scores of the top 6 in his biography of Richter, and says that there were many defaulted games and that Wegemund withdrew. He has sent me the handwritten crosstable from B. Koch's notes. Some of the names are hard to read, but McGowan has tentatively identified the less legible ones as Kaltheuner, Dührssen, and Kolbe. Koch has put asterisks beside some of the scores, and although it is hard to read his note below the table, in other tables in his notes, the asterisks clearly refer to defaulted games, so I interpret them as such here. Kaltheuner defaulted to 7 players (Czach, Dührssen, Charmatz, Müller, Richter, Elstner, and Hohensee); Elstner defaulted to 3 (Wächter, Hartmann, and Hohensee); Dührssen defaulted to 2 (Charmatz and Müller); Kolbe defaulted to 2 (Hartmann and Hohensee); and Laboschin defaulted to Strasdas. Wegemund seems to have played 5 games before withdrawing, wins against Dührssen and Charmatz, and losses to Richter, Elstner and W. Koch. I include these games for rating, though they were cancelled for the official scores.
