Event table notes

Event data
Name: Lodz Championship
Place: Lodz
Start date: 1930
End date: 1930

Notes:
Di Felice has 'Szapiro, Marke' at this event; Gaige has 'Szpiro'. The former was born in 1917, and so could have been no more than 13 years old at the time of this tournament. More likely it was Abram Szpiro, born 1910. Also, Gaige has 'P. Frydman' here and Di Felice has 'Frydman, Paulin', but Lissowski cites the Dictionary of Polish Chessplayers, by Tadeusz Wolsza (vol.3, p.33) listing this as one of the tournaments of Achilles Frydman, though there his score is given as 8.5 out of 13, instead of 8 out of 12, as indicated in the crosstable given by Gaige and Di Felice. Daniuszewski was a 14th player who dropped out early; probably Frydman drew with him.
