Event table notes

Event data
Name: 15th U.S.S.R. Championship Quarter-Final
Place: Leningrad
Start date: 1946
End date: 1946

Notes:
Alexandrov forfeited to Shishov. Di Felice has 'Tsintsadze, Viacheslav' here, but in Georgian events where Di Felice has this player, the Georgian Wikipedia site has 'Shota Tsintsadze', although in the 7th Georgian Championship in Tbilisi 1946, it has 'Shalva Tsintsadze'. It seems likely that the player who had been doing well in Georgian championships would have been sent to the Quarter-finals of the U.S.S.R. championship in Leningrad, so I am guessing that it was actually Shota Tsintsadze here. Perhaps in Russia he used the name 'Viacheslav' but that is not at all equivalent to 'Shota'. Chessgames.com also has 'Viacheslav Tsintsadze Sr.' at some of the events involving Shota or Shalva Tsintsadze, so the identifications are not clear.
