| Notes: |
| Goeller, Feenstra Kuiper, Pope and La Grande Storia degli Scacchi have Marshall losing both games to Howell and getting one draw against Pillsbury. Gaige and Di Felice have Marshall winning both games over Howell and losing both to Pillsbury. A review of John Hilbert's book on this tournament at Schach Niggemann suggests that the former version is correct. Goeller and La Grande Storia degli Scacchi also indicate that Marshall's second win over Karpinski was by forfeit. Gaige, Pope and Di Felice show it as a genuine win. As both games exist, I have taken the latter version. |
