| Fournier was blind; de la Bourdonnais played blindfold. Two games were played, this one even and the other at rook odds (recorded separately here). The encounter was anticipated in the 15 June 1837 issue of Le Palamède and reported in the 15 July 1837 issue. I guess that it took place in June. |
