| The Sept. 1846 issue of Le Palamède says that Lécrivain has been for a time in Strasbourg playing chess, so this series of games against Ehrmann had probably started by then. On p.519 of the Nov. 1846 issue, Lécrivain says that he had spent two months in Strasbourg, so it could not have started before about Sept. 1846. The total of this series plus the more formal match between them was given by Ehrmann in a letter dated 15 Nov. 1846, so it had finished by that date. |
