| In the Chess Player's Magazine of Jan. 1865 (p.7) Löwenthal says only that Saburov won by the odd game, reversing the result of their first match, which Strode won 5-4. I am guessing here that this was also a 9-game match, and that the score was 5-4 for Saburov. The Era of 24 Apr. 1864 (p.12) gives a partial result to date of +3-3=0. Since their previous match ended in Apr. 1864, this one must have started in that month. |
