| Di Felice gives the result of a match 8-6 for Neumann against Anderssen in July 1864. Zavatarelli, in his biography of Kolisch, gives +6-4=3 for Neumann. However, the Chess Player's Magazine of Nov. 1864 (p.351) says that Neumann made 'about even games' out of 56 played with Anderssen during the latter's 10-day visit to Berlin in July 1864. Renette and Zavatarelli give the same approximate result, citing the Neue Berliner Schachzeitung. |
