Feenstra Kuiper, Golombek and Di Felice give +22-8=3 for Dubois; Hooper and Whyld give about 2/3 of about 30 games; La Grande Storia degli Scacchi gives +21-3=8 for Dubois. Spinrad gives +21-8=3 for Dubois as well as citing the preceding results. Zavatarelli also gives +21-8=3 for Dubois. A letter from Dubois himself in the Era of 22 May 1864 (p.6) and the remeniscences of Dubois in Rivista scacchistica italiana (1900, pp.297-298) give +21-8=3 for Dubois. Feenstra Kuiper and Di Felice give date as 1856. Golombek and Hooper and Whyld give date as 1855. Staunton in the Illustrated London News (22 Sept. 1855, p.366) says that Dubois has won the match, so it must have taken place in 1855. |
