   | Notes: |
   | These games were played while Morphy was in New York for about 2 months from Oct. to Dec. 1857. In a letter dated 16 Nov. 1857 (quoted by Lawson and Sarah's Morphy website), Morphy gives his score against Perrin at odds of Pawn and Two Moves as +4-2. The Chess Monthly of Dec. 1857 (p.383) gives +6-2 but the Jan. 1858 issue (p.30) gives +8-2. I take the latter as the most complete. | | | |
