The report quoted in Harding's book places this game on the occasion of a simultaneous exhibition given by Blackburne on 9 Jun. 1874, and before mentioning another blindfold performance on 11 Jun. 1874. The City of London Chess Magazine dates this game to 11 Jun. 1874. So the date is not entirely clear. |
