| The report in the Aug. 1874 issue of the Maryland Chess Review (p.333) says this match was played 'several weeks ago', and the Watertown Re-Union of 2 Jul. 1874 gives a partial score to date, while the final score is given in the 9 Jul. 1874 issue of the Watertown Re-Union, so I am guessing that it was begun in June 1874 and finished in July 1874. |
