| The Schachzeitung of 1848 (p.305) prints a letter from Bledow dated 7 July 1843, saying that Buckle completely defeated von Carisien. Bledow gives the first game between Buckle and von Carisien, which suggests that there were more, but there is no indication of how many, nor the total score. I use a soft result of 1-0 to represent the complete victory. I will guess that this encounter took place earlier in 1843. |
