| Hirschbach says that Silberschmidt arrived in Leipzig incognito, so Hirschbach did not know the identity of his opponent during their first game, which was drawn. He describes two games as having been played. Since this report appears early in the 1848 volume of the Deutsche Schachzeitung, and he says Silberschmidt's visit was 'in the spring', I assume that this means spring 1847. |
