| Lawson says this 'first series' of games at Knight odds was reported in the New Orleans Sunday Delta of 13 Mar. 1859. It also appeared in the Spirit of the Times of 12 Mar. 1859. Also, one of the games is given in the Illustrated London News of 21 May 1859 (p.478). This makes it appear likely that the games were played early in 1859. |
