Notes: |
This game result is given in the Schachzeitung of Dec. 1849 (pp.459-461), and while I don't usually include the results of single published games out of context, since they may or may not be representative, I include this one to counterbalance the two wins by von Jaenisch receiving the same odds from Petrov the previous year. The indication from von der Lasa's article in the Jun. 1873 Deutsche Schachzeitung (p.171) is that von Jaenisch won a majority when given Pawn and Two Moves, but clearly not all, as indicated by this game. The date given is 1 Mar. 1844, and since Petrov visited Saint Petersburg in 1844, I am guessing that it took place there. |
