| In the 10 Jan. 1844 issue of L'Emancipation (p.3), a result of +9-2=1 is given for Michaëls (where his opponent is mistakenly given as Laigle, not van der Hoeven), but in the 18 Mar. 1844 issue of L'Indépendence Belge (p.3) Michaëls himself sets the record straight, saying he won +12-2=1. |
