| The Mar. 1894 issue of the Tijdschrift van den Nederlandschen Schaakbond (p.38) says the match was for the first to win 10 games, and gives the result to date as +2-1=2 for den Hertog, so the match started earlier than this. No further games are found after 24 Sep. 1894, when the result was +7-6=2 for Meiners, so perhaps the match was abandoned at this point. |
