Notes:
Sunnucks gives date as 1862; Kingston and Russell, La Grande Storia degli Scacchi, the Berliner Schachverband website, and Zavatarelli (in his biography of Kolisch) give it as 1864; Di Felice gives July 1864. The Chess Player's Magazine of Sept. 1864 gives a report on a partial result of 7 games (+3-2=2 for Suhle) played from 17 - 23 July 1864 but says it is unclear whether these were part of a bona fide match. The final result, +3-3=2 is given in the Nov. 1864 issue of the Chess Player's Magazine, as well as the Era of 30 Oct. 1864 (p.14), where the description suggests that these were just some offhand games played during Anderssen's visit to Berlin and not a formal match. Renette and Zavatarelli cite primary German sources saying that Anderssen's visit to Berlin was from 17 to 27 July 1864 and indicating that it was called a 'match', even though Anderssen was playing daily from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. against many players. Renette and Zavatarelli thus list this as a formal match, as do I. They give the dates of all the games, the first played on the 17th, and the last on the 27th.
