| Spinrad gives this from the Chicago Tribune of 15 Dec. 1878 (suggesting it is only a partial result). The Illustrated London News of 4 Jan. 1879 gives this as the result of offhand games during Mackenzie's visit to Saint Louis. The 1 Jan. 1879 issue of the Westminster Papers says that Mackenzie's visit to Saint Louis took place on 30 Nov. 1878, so I presume this is the date of his 4 offhand games with Judd. |
