The Leeds Mercury of 11 Apr. 1876 has 'Waite' playing for Bradford. The Chess Player's Chronicle of 1 Mar. 1878 (p.66) has 'W.J. Wait' playing for Bradford. I am guessing that these both refer to William Thomas Waite, as identified by Steve Mann in the 1878 Bradford - Manchester Athenaeum match.
