| Although the Leeds Mercury of 19 Apr. 1886 (p.3) and the British Chess Magazine of May 1886 (p.209) say that Quarkowsky beat Snow, the Leeds Mercury of 24 Apr. 1886 (p.7) says that Quarkowsky took first prize and Snow took second 'by arrangement'. I take this to be a correction of the earlier report. |
