| Notes: |
| The scores given in the Book of the Counties' Chess Association (p.60) add up to 19, whereas they should add up to 18 for a 3-round, all-play-all with 4 players. It seems likely that the scores of the two prize-winners are correct (Marriott 6.5; Wild 6) so I will guess that Kirke got only 3.5 not 4.5, though it could be that Miss Parkinson got only 1 not 2. The Nottinghamshire Guardian says that play in all sections of the Counties' Chess Association meeting (apart from the international tournament, evidently) finished on Sat. 7 Aug. 1886. |
