La Grande Storia degli Scacchi and Graeme Cree do not show these uncounted draws, shown by Gaige, Di Felice and Forster. Judd won his first round game against Showalter by default, as did Delmar over Bird. Winter cites Steinitz to the effect that Mason lost to D.G. Baird 'by time', but in fact by drunkenness.
