Notes: |
Pope's crosstable indicates that Showalter's and Delmar's wins over Ettlinger were by default. Neither the crosstables given by the British Chess Magazine, Gaige, Di Felice and La Grande Storia degli Scacchi, nor the scores given by Feenstra Kuiper and Reichhelm indicate any defaulted games. Urcan (p.74) confirms that Ettlinger had a cold and forfeited these two games, so I do not count them here. Reichhelm has date 1894; Feenstra Kuiper and La Grande Storia degli Scacchi have 1893; The British Chess Magazine, Gaige, Di Felice, Pope and Urcan give exact dates 9-23 Dec. 1893. |
