Notes:
This result is given in a letter by S. Lécrivain to Le Palamède in 1843 but with no indication of the year, except to say that 'tradition teaches us' that these games took place. Deschapelles played little after 1821 and his rare reappearances are documented, so it is likely that this took place earlier, though how much earlier is unknown. Boncourt was born in the 1760s and Deschapelles began his chess career in 1798, though he was away for considerable periods in the first 2 decades of the 19th century. Deschapelles' period of regular activity at the Café de la Régence began after the second restoration in 1815, probably from 1816, in which year he resigned from his position in Strasbourg. I am placing these games in the year 1816, though admittedly with little to go on. At least this shows that Deschapelles was active from that year.
