| Notes: |
| A single game played by Newham and de Saint-Amant at the Yorkshire Chess Meeting. Stanley, in the American Chess Magazine (1847, p.207), says it took place the day after the meeting, but de Saint-Amant gives the exact date in Le Palamède (1847, v.7, p.270), saying it was played in the afternoon of the day of the meeting (1847, v.7, p.201). |
