| Part of a match in which Potter gave odds of the Knight and Pawn and Two Moves alternately. The 24 Aug. 1878 issue of the Illustrated London News gives the result, which I therefore guess finished in Aug. 1878. Land and Water of 4 May 1878 (information from Tim Harding) says the first game had been played, so I guess at a start in May 1878. |
