| The reports in the New York Daily Tribune of 27 Feb. 1895 and the New York Recorder of 3 Mar. 1895 give individual game results adding up to a score of 6-2 for Manhattan (including the eventually agreed drawn game between Hodges and C. Hymes). Hilbert and Lahde give a total score of 5.5-2.5 for Manhattan. The discrepancy seems to be the game D.G. Baird-Bernstein, which was drawn according to the New York Recorder, but must have been won by Bernstein, according to Hilbert and Lahde. |
