Notes: |
The Nottinghamshire Guardian of 13 Aug. 1886 (p.3) gives a partial crosstable before the event finished. The issue of 20 Aug. 1886 (p.4) gives the final scores of the four prize winners, though the statement that Dickins won a game and Derbyshire drew one since the crosstable of 13 Aug. and before the final win by Derbyshire over Dickins must be in error. The final complete scores of each player are given in the Nottingham Chess Club Minutes Book, and imply that Dickins got only a draw between his 6.5 points in the 13 Aug. crosstable and his final loss to Derbyshire, while Derbyshire got only his final win over Dickins after his 6.5 points in the 13 Aug. crosstable. |
