Event table notes

Event data
Name: 10th Canadian Championship Tournament
Place: Quebec
Start date: 27 Dec. 1881
End date: Jan. 1882

Notes:
Le Droit lost all his games by default, and Duval only played three (all losses). Di Felice has 'Barry, John Finan' at this event, but he was American and born in 1873. According to Yanofsky, the British Chess Magazine and the Chess Player's Chronicle, it was 'J. Barry', but probably a Canadian player of that name. Di Felice has 'MacLeod, Donald Ross' at this event and the British Chess Magazine and the Chess Player's Chronicle have 'D.R. MacLeod', but Yanofsky has 'R. MacLeod'. Di Felice has 'O'Farrell, Patrick' at this event but Yanofsky and the British Chess Magazine have 'J. O'Farrell' and the Chess Player's Chronicle has 'J. O'Farrel'. The Chess Player's Chronicle of Feb. 15, 1882 says that the meeting took place on Dec. 27, 1881, so it started in 1881 and probably finished in January 1882 (or perhaps February?).
