Event table notes

Event data
Name: British Chess Association Tournament
Place: London, England
Start date: 15 June 1885
End date: 3 July 1885

Notes:
The Chess Monthly of July 1885 (p.323) and the Standard of 4 July 1885 (p.3) give the full crosstable, but have an error in recording the score of Reeves-Mills. Mills is given a half point, but Reeves is given 0, so that Reeves' total score is shown as 5.5 instead of 6. Gaige and Di Felice give the corrected table. Feenstra Kuiper gives 'Robson' at this event; Sergeant, Gaige and Di Felice give 'Rabson'. Gaige gives 'Rumbold'; Sergeant, Feenstra Kuiper and Di Felice give 'Rumboll'. The Chess Monthly and the Standard give 'R. Rabson' and 'A. Rumboll'.
