| This was a 14-player double-round all-play-all tournament. Kennedy played only his first round games and then withdrew. Claiborne played one game in the second round and then withdrew, the rest of his second round games being scored as draws for his opponents. The scores given in the New Orleans Daily Picayune and the Brooklyn Chess Chronicle include this half-point by default for each of the first 12 players, but nothing for the second round game not played by Kennedy. It is not clear which player Claiborne played in the second round, so I am guessing that it was a draw, and simply remove the default half point from all of the first 12 players as well as from Claiborne's score. This of course misses one game that was actually played but allows me to just count Claiborne and Kennedy as having only played the first round. I am not sure whether the player named 'Dupré' here was Frank Dupré or Raoul Dupré. |
