| The Quebec Morning Chronicle of 5 Feb. 1885 (p.4) says that the closing of the tournament was to be 14 Mar. 1885, but there was a provision for further games to be played after that date, to some players had not played all their games because of non-attendance or refusal to play. Strangely, it was not these players who had to play further games, but those who had already played them. There is, however, no mention of that provision needing to be applied. |
