Name: Berlin Chess Club Winter Tournament - Class I
Place: Berlin
Start date: 10 Oct. 1901
End date: Feb. 1902

Notes:
Only partial results available. Scores are consistent with a 12-player single-round all-play-all. The other players were Spiess, Brennert, Koslowski, Guttmann, Heilmann, Pauli, Löwy and Dueball. I am guessing that 'Walter' was Hermann Walter. The Deutsches Wochenschach of 1902 (p.128) gives the play-off match as between Walter and 'F. Wagner', which is clearly an error, since 'A. Wagner' is listed earlier (p.70) as a participant in the tournament. The Deutsche Schachzeitung of 1902 also has the play-off with 'F. Wagner', presumably the same error from the same source.
