Notes:
Not the 'Beaver' in Manchester in the 1850s (e.g. Illustrated London News, 24 Oct. 1857, p.418). According to Steve Mann (personal communication) it is not clear whether the 'Robert Atwood Beaver' who was active in the 1880s was the father (born 1846) or the son (born 1865), who had the same name.
