Notes: |
Pope's crosstable indicates that Pillsbury's win over Baird was by default. Neither the crosstables given by Feenstra Kuiper, Gaige and Di Felice, nor the scores given by Reichhelm indicate any defaulted games. Gillam, in the Quarterly for Chess History, also says that Pillsbury beat Baird by default. I take Pope's table to be correct and do not count the default win. Feenstra Kuiper, Gaige and Di Felice all give dates 20 Oct. - 10 Nov. 1894; Pope, however, gives exact dates of Pillsbury's games from 20 Oct. to 15 Nov. 1894. |
