| 12-player knockout tournament. Spinrad gives Szabo-Winn score as 3-1, as does La Grande Storia degli Scacchi, but Di Felice gives +3-0=0. Spinrad gives Zytogorski-Muller as 5-2, from Schach Datenbank, but indicates that the CPC gives +4-1=1. La Grande Storia degli Scacchi and Di Felice both give 5-2. In round 1 Winn retired before Szabo won 4 games. In round 2 Zytogorski retired before Szabo won 4 games and Falkbeer beat Brien by default. The 3 finalists each won against one and lost against the other opponent, but Szabo retired and Falkbeer and Barnes played a single play-off game. |
