Biographical data
Name: Kenny, Charles
   Also known as: Charles Kenney
Born:
Died:

Notes:
Sergeant and Di Felice have 'Charles Kenney'; Gaige has 'Kenn[e]y, Charles'. ChessBase and La Grande Storia degli Scacchi have William Stopford Kenny at events in the late 1840s and 1850s, but he was born in 1788 and so would have been 60 already in 1848, and it is more likely that these results have been misattributed. Gaige says that Charles Kenny flourished c1840-1860. The Globe (Toronto) 6 Jan. 1877 (p.7) gives a match result of Wormald vs. 'the late Charles Kenny' in 1858. The Chess Player's Chronicle gives games by 'C. Kenny' as early as Dec. 1845 (p.372). Bell's Life in London (20 Oct. 1844, p.4) has a game by a 'Mr. K--y'.
