Event table notes

Event data
Name: Westminster - Bristol Telegraph Match
Place: London, England and Bristol
Start date: 4 Dec. 1868
End date: 4 Dec. 1868

Notes:
This was an 8-a-side match, but according to Löwenthal and Medley, the games Skipworth-Fedden, Hewitt-Franklin (W.), and Lamb-Burt were unfinished. The Bristol Mercury of 5 Dec. 1868 (p.8) says that only Hewitt-W. Franklin and Lamb-Burt were unfinished and says that Skipworth drew with Fedden. Sergeant gives the result as 4-1 for Westminster in games that were finished.
