| The identities of a few of the players are somewhat uncertain. In particular, there were two Manchester players named 'Wood' active at this time, Matthew Bateson Wood, and Edward Hall Wood. I am guessing that it was M.B. Wood here, since Forster identifies him as playing in a Manchester-Liverpool match in 1881. |
