Event table notes

Event data
Name: East and West of Scotland Match
Place: Edinburgh
Start date: 28 Feb. 1880
End date: 28 Feb. 1880

Notes:
The Chess Player's Chronicle of 1 Apr. 1889 (p.87) says that G.H. Taylor and A. Brown played only one game, a draw. The Chess Monthly of Apr. 1880 (p.228) gives the result for these players as 'D ,,' which might mean two draws (but then why not write 'DD') or might mean that their second game was not played, as stated by the Chess Player's Chronicle.
