Notes:
Staunton (The Chess Tournament, p.lxi, and Chess Player's Chronicle, 1851, p.283) has a C. Meickle of Edinburgh as a subscriber of the Great Tournament of 1851, who is probably the same person. The Globe (1877.01.06) has a player whose name might be 'Meicle, C.' in the East v. West of Scotland match, but is very hard to read on a poor microfilm copy.
