Notes:
His name is sometimes given as 'Jenkin', but also appears often as 'Jenkins'. The Field of 15 Feb. 1873 has 'T. Jenkins' (the initial being an error). The Chess Monthly of Apr. 1880 (p.228) also has 'T. Jenkin', but the Chess Player's Chronicle of 1 Apr. 1880 (p.87) has 'J. Jenkin' in the same event. According to Alan McGowan, his 'birth name was registered as Jenkins, but Jenkin also appeared in official documents and chess articles'.
