Notes:
Samsin has 'Thaddeus M. Brown'. The New York Clipper of 7 Jan. 1860 has an obituary for Theodore M. Brown, but continues to mention him in subsequent issues. An announcement of his death also appears in the 22 Jan. 1860 issue of the New Orleans Sunday Delta, but is retracted in the 29 Jan. 1860 issue. The Illustrated London News of 28 Oct. 1876 has an obituary for T.M. Brown, the American problem composer, and Gaige has his death in 1876.
