Hoing'; La Grande Storia degli Scacchi gives 'Hoeing Karl'; the Karlovarský Šachklub website gives 'C. Höing'. Renette and Zavatarelli say that he also had a son named 'Carl Höing' who 'had a big role for chess in Dusseldorf'. The Neue Berliner Schachzeitung of Nov. 1865 (p.324) has 'E. Hoing', clearly an error. |
