| Forster gives his name as 'Pindar, Eduard (Dmitry)'. Gaige gives 'Pindar, Edward'. Hindle gives 'Edward Pindar' but mentions (p.7) that Pindar himself also used the name 'Dmitri'. Gaige says born c1830, died 1873+. Forster says he died 'c1895'. Hindle (p.7) gives his date of christening as 30 Aug. 1828 and (p.5) gives his age as 52 in the 1881 British Census. Together, these imply that he was born in 1828 before the 30th of August. Hindle gives suggestive evidence that he had died by 1892, but with no precise date. |
